Case Studies: IT Management

Customer: Accounting Practice

Background:

We engaged with an Accounting Practice with 15 accountants who had run their own internal IT services for many years using the skills of the business owner who was also one of the fee earners. He was supported and supplemented by a 3rd party supplier who provided management of the Practice’s accountancy application.

Due to growth, the Practice decided that they needed a more proactive IT Support capability and decided to engage with an MSP to provide that support. Initially, they defined a list of their requirements and approached a number of companies who provided quotes based on these, but our customer couldn’t easily compare the quotes as they all offered significantly different services.

How we helped:

Our customer therefore engaged with us to evaluate the responses. Following on from this initial engagement it was subsequently decided to redefine the requirements, adding details such as the logistics of the onboarding process, reporting, exception handling and contract termination, as well as ensuring that core support service matched the business requirements throughout.

With the newly structured tender document in place, we reached out again to the potential suppliers and were able to get proposals which matched the business needs and could easily be evaluated against one other.

With our help, our customer obtained a solution which met their requirements and included a structured method for monitoring the supplier’s performance over the life of the contract.
